Bamboo, fantastic and so incredible useful nature’s product and in wide parts of Asia a symbol for flexibility and strength, offers it’s vast potentials in our line of bamboo saxophones.
Built out of hand selected poles from controlled forest plantations in Northern Thailand mountainous regions ,it’s warm, earthy, mellow tonal properties go into our design to create a pleasant blend of form and function, at affordable prices.
By assembling, segments of bamboo rings with gradually growing diameters and so creating a saxophone-typical conical shape we arrive at setting up for a saxophone-like sound that doesn’t stop to catch attention of even the very experienced saxophone and clarinet professionals.
Before arriving there, all segments of the final instrument are prepared in numerous hours of taking care that texture and shape meet the demands of acoustical physics that are basic for creating a reed blown woodwind instrument of this class. An open-holed, recorder like fingering system allows playing in halftone steps.
I do not see it as a substitute for a time and in many cases battletested classic brass saxophone though, more as an instrument in its own right offering very own tonal nuances as well as a good entrance into developing reed blowing skills. Last, not least it can be your estimated, not to be missed part of your traveling outfit.
